Prequel (2006, video, trt 10:00)

This video is meant to be shown with Kendall Lakes, as a prequel, and was designed to be an exercise in the writing of the feature-length screenplay: Sequel.

The documentation of a three-day performance created in the New School for Post-Animative Thought's roving studio, Prequel is a community-based video performance about alien sisters Carmen and Marmen who get into trouble on their home planet and flee to Earth to seek refuge from the evil Marianna. The video includes performances, animation, production design, and sound contributed by the performance participants on an ongoing basis, for 72 hours. The performance culminated in a parking lot screening of the project at CalArts.
